31.5 Weeks
Well, time is flying by and we only have about 8 weeks left until Baby Newman makes his/her appearance! The baby is growing like a weed. It is almost completely head down and you can see the head and knee popping out from time to time. Such a trip! The baby weighs about 3.5 - 4 pounds and is about 17 inches long. So from here on out, it should put on about a half a pound a week. The lungs are still developing, along with the brain. The baby can hear and follow light. We started our birthing classes last week and our teacher is great! She has witnessed 1500 births...WOW! Scott made it through the first one like a champ. Except the part when he was squeezing his eyes shut during an actual birth video. There are 5 other couples in our class and they are all having girls. We seem to be the minority these days - by not finding out the sex of our baby.

We have been working hard on the nursery and boy is it looking cute. All the major stuff is done, now we are just awaiting the arrival of the pull out chair and a half. That should be here around the beginning of April.
We have also been getting gifts from our registry. It is so much fun to come home to baby gifts. My baby shower is next weekend and I am really excited about it. It will be so nice to see everyone...
It has been very stormy here the past week and we have been getting some much needed rain. Below is a picture of a rainbow near our house. Tahoe has gotten 5 feet of snow since Saturday. Which means the hubby has the car packed and is heading up tomorrow for a POWder day. Lucky dog!!

I would also like to share that our good friend Jared Christie is joining Club Wed. He popped the question to Melissa last weekend and she said, "YES"! They will be getting married in October in Mexico....

Cara-
You look great. I know that you are not suppose to say this to a pregnant woman, but you are huge! I think you are going to be having a BIG baby. Seeing this picture gives me flashbacks of being prego with Charlotte- with 2 months to go! You are obviously a very good, nurturing home for your little one. I bet he/she won't want to be coming out early! If you're taking bets, mine is on a girl (sorry Scott!)
Lots of love to both of you,
Jen & the Ellis family
Wow, 8 weeks, it will fly by! We can't wait to see this little bundle of joy! Glad your feeling good :) We want to see pics of the baby room when it's done!
WOW! You are really becoming a mama. It will not be long before you forget what it was like before kids. Can't wait to see you for your baby shower. Yippee - counting the days. Sorry Jen, my bet is a boy...only cuz I want Eva to have her choice of good men when she's ready to marry. I'll know for sure when I feel the belly in person. :)
ah, hello Ann:
James & Eva Ellis
We if we can't have it, they will for us!
:)
